Schedule
In this Unit we will create a project schedule for the implementation of the product. The new product should be ready for distribution in about 9 months. The new CRM system should be created, tested, and in place six weeks prior to the products distribution date. The mailing will go out 3 weeks before the proposed distribution date; therefore we must ensure that the tasks and the deliverable coincide with the aforementioned dates. If the tasks are not completed in a timely manner that product will not be ready for distribution and the owners, managers, stakeholders and customers will be highly disappointed (AIU-Online, 2011). The two teams will be created to ensure that the product is completed on time. We will have one team that consists of marketing and the other team will have expertise in IT. The outcomes should be favorable for the company due to the fact that we have a diversified group of skilled people working to ensure that the proposed implementation date is achieved.
The team members that will be assigned to this project are Project Manager, Sub - Committee, Project Sponsor, Training Coordinator, 2 training officers, IT personnel and Administrative Secretary. The following are a list of skills and responsibilities for each person:
* Project Manager - Provides overall accountability to the project, Accountable for establishing the goals and objectives, manages the overall operations of the project members along with maintaining the work plans, makes sure that the appropriate resources are available, delegates the work and ensure that all tasks are completed in the allotted time (Project Management Institute, 2008). Skills: The manager should possess oral and written communication skills, be a team player and possess leadership skills, must know how to prioritize and manage conflicts, must be people-oriented and be efficient in the area of creating and maintaining budgets. The person must have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and at least 5 year prior experience in managing projects.
* Sub - Committee - provides assistance in resolving conflicts that may arise beyond the control of the project manager. Monitors the progress of the project and provides the necessities when deadlines are in jeopardy of not being met.
* Project Sponsor - provides approval and sponsorship from an executive level; responsible for ensuring that the budget is okay and is responsible for ensuring that the project deliverables are received, approved and documented as required. Skills: The manager should possess oral and written communication skills, be a team player and possess leadership skills, must know how to prioritize and manage conflicts, must be people-oriented and be efficient in the area of creating and maintaining budgets. The person must have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and at least 5 year prior experience in managing projects.
