Social Networking in todays world is unlike any thing we have predicted. From the positive things teens see from it like dating, communication with friends and making new friends. Alll the way to the negative portions that parents hate to see, like online bullies to children being exposed by other teens. Social networking has came a long way since (aim) american online instant messenger. With aim teens were simply just text messaging on the computer and every now and then they would send pictures and if they had webcams chat live. More recently technology has pushed social networking past any threshold that we once imagined. Today we have sites like Myspace and Facebook, they are not as private as older networking sites. Today all someone has to do is look at your profile and they can find almost everything but your social security number. Many teens post pictures of there half naked bodies and have started sending naked pictures at very young ages. Social networking has made a change for the worse and it is only a matter of time before we as parents can not control what our children are learning because of these social networking sites. Understanding the difficult legal, as well as moral, issues associated with this particular case, State District Court Judge Herb Ritchie was persuaded to impose a relatively lenient sentence on her. The judge ordered the young woman to spend 30 days in jail, pay a $10,000 fine, and a serve a 10-year probation with the following conditions: write a 1000-word essay "suitable for publication in high school newspapers," perform 400 hours of community service, undergo random urinalysis tests, and not drive a vehicle until approved to do so by the court.
