It is about strategic management, choosing the right strategy for organizational management. As Organizations strive towards achieving set aims and objectives, a number of scholars have come out with different propositions on which strategy is most beneficial for organizational developments. Some scholars provide that the environment is quite unstable and therefore requires a strategy that must be continually adjusted for the benefits of the Organization while others provide that a systematic analysis between managers and high ranking staff are essential for an accomplishment of the vision opf the organization. They are of the view that involving too many stakeholders in strategy formulation may expose the organization to unprofessional counsel which on the long run may be tantamount to the survival of an organization in the time of dangers. This paper would investigate strategic management and how the right management strategy would be beneficial to the development of organizational goals. Strategic planning has been defined by a number of scholars who realise the importance of planning and implementation of strategy in Organizations. According to Goodstein, et al (1995), strategic management is a process by which the guiding members of an Organization envision its future and develop the necessary procedures and operations to achieve that future. The breakdown of this is that planning is essential for strategic management as well as setting up a deployment team that will oversee implementation and execution of the plan.
Gluck, Kaufman, walleck (1982), sees it as a management system that links strategic planning and decision making with the day to day business of operational management. They further argue that it is a systems approach to identifying and making the necessary changes as it moves through its vision. Managers must think strategically in planning and implementing organizational vision and mission since sustainable competitive advantage
