1. During these past months, we have been dealing with numerous stressors. We have been tasked to work longer hours and more days due to the upcoming inspection, deployments, and real world threats. Some of us also have personal issues at home, which may hinder your focus but needs our attention. Even though we might not be able to eliminate these stressors, we can learn how to reduce them. Therefore, to help with these stressors, here are a series of stress management strategies to help us through these tough times.
2. Managing your stress does not have to be a difficult task. It can be as simple as playing with your pet or talking with your significant other about your day. We need to set aside a time away from work to relax. Take this time as a break from all responsibilities and recharge your batteries. Build a strong support system of friends and family as they can buffer you from some of the negative impacts of stress. Research has shown that laughing is also a good stress reliever as well. Nevertheless, if none it these work for you, maybe a change in your physical health might help.
3. Performing regular exercise helps you reduce and prevent the effects of stress. Aerobic activities help burn away stress. Even simply eating a healthy diet helps you keep your energy up and your mind clear. Reducing caffeine and sugar intake will help you feel more relax and eliminate temporary highs. Consequently, you must learn what stress management techniques work for you.
4. As you see, managing your stress does not have to be a difficult concept. Just remember to relax and take care of your physical wellbeing. We have a tough time ahead of us and I know we can step up to the challenge if we keep our heads in the game.
