This article permits to understand better the major role and monopoly of UK's top ten retailers in food industry.
But the main aim is to investigate Healthy Eating in their stores; because they have noticed the growth of children obesity and price differences between healthy food and other products. They used organisations' quotes to have a relevant argue. Indeed they quoted for example The Department of Health and Riches, to deal with food deserts and the difficult relationship between low income and Healthy Eating food.
Indeed the authors want to investigate the manner food retailers address healthy eating agenda in their CSR reports and how they intend to solve these problems.
Therefore two methods of enquiry have been employed, an internet research and a simple walkthrough operated in stores in order to know the degree to which these healthy eating agendas were reflected in their stores.
Afterwards, their argue and the results of that enquiry were really interesting; indeed they raise issues that seem to be vital for their country food industry, like manufacturer's food and food deserts. Their aim is not only to criticize retailers but they hope that their report will, first of all, inform people like me and also to improve healthy eating retailers' strategies.
To put it in a nutshell, this article permits to understand the actual situation of the UK's food industry and that the UK's top ten food retailers can improve their healthy eating's strategies because the CSR reports posted online are not always reflected within their stores.
