EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The purpose of this RFP is to inform potential bidders of an upcoming opportunity and to solicit proposals for their transportation services as currently required by the company. Based upon the review and evaluation of the proposals offered in response to this RFP, company may at its sole discretion negotiate and enter into contracts with one or more successful bidders.
Not withstanding any other provision herein, bidder participation is absolutely voluntary. Price will be a major consideration but will not be the only factor in company's decision to award the contract.
COMPANY BACKGROUND
Its relevantly a new company named “Chocolatte”. Our company is in the confectionary business. It is involved in the production of supreme quality of chocolates. The target market of our company is Mississauga (ON), Calgary (Alberta), Vancouver (BC), Edmonton (Alberta), mONTREAL (Quebec), and Algonac (US). Our products will be supplied to the following customers:
- Wholesalers
- Retailers
- Traders
The manufacturing plant of “Chocolatte” is in Brampton (ON).
BRAMPTON –
A people-powered economy with a population of approximately 523,911 Brampton is the 9th largest city in Canada and the 3rd largest in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Brampton is the second fastest growing city in Canada among Canada’s 50 largest cities, averaging growth of 4.2 per cent per year (or 18,000 new residents per year). Brampton residents represent more than 200 different cultures and speak more than 89 languages.
Adjacent to Canada’s largest airport Toronto Pearson International, Brampton is home to the largest intermodal railway terminal in Canada and has immediate access to an extensive network of trans-continental highways. At the center of Canada’s major transportation corridors and located near the U.S. border, Brampton is within a day’s drive of 158 million consumers.
Brampton has a successful, diversified economy and is home to more than 8,500 businesses. Seventy two per cent of Brampton’s economic base is comprised of service-producing companies and 28 per cent is comprised of goods-producing companies.

PRODUCT INFORMATION
The company deals in three different flavors of chocolate as described:
- Chocolatte Dark Premium
- Chocolatte Milk Chocolate
- Chocolatte Semi Sweet
OVERALL PROJECTS GOALS
The overall project goal is to produce and deliver the supreme quality products at very competitive price to the specified destinations within the time and budget constraints. Here as we are delivering the product to US as well, it becomes utmost important to take the cross border rules and regulations in consideration. Here is our mission statement which we like our bidders to take into account.

SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED
We are looking for the following services by the succesful bidders:
- loading the goods/products from the warehouse
- delivering it to the specified destinations within time and budget constraints
- getting the qualified and efficient drivers on board
- checking and inspecting the transportation modes timely
- maintainence whatsoever of the transportation modes
ELIGIBILTY AND QUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS
- Bidders must be capable of entering into the contract
- Bidder can be domestic or from US provided no law and the government of the country prohibits commercial relationship with
- Bidders should not have any conflict of interest and those bidders found to be in the conflict of interest will be disqualified
- A conflict of interest is defined as but not limited to-
- submitting more than one bid in this process
- having controlling shareholders in common
- is not subject of any legal or criminal proceedings
qualifications of bidders:
EVALUATION CRITERIA
- Eligibility and qualifcations of bidders
- financial comaprison to compare the costs and establish the best evaluation bid
- a brief discription of all the related services offered by each bidder
- the total bid price
- any discounts offered and the methodology of their applications
- a declaration that the bidder is not participating in more than one bid for this contract
- providing the overall price matrix where they should give a detailed description of the full truck load price, local taxes paid, total price per line item, tolls paid at the routes and an authorized signature of the signatory to the bid
