Sustainability is defined as the issue that businesses need to reconsider of how their products and production affect the issue of developing sustainable environment and supporting the long term growth of the environment.

There are arguments rising both for and against sustainable practice in business. It is argued that while concerning about sustainability practice in business, many organizations fail to manage the profit maximization which is one of their core value when operating business. In addition, these activities take quite a lot of time at a high cost which makes many companies reluctant to make a move. Another issue that organizations have to concern is lacking of human resource with certain skill and knowledge of going for sustainability practice development.

On the other hand, in today world, people have concerned about environmental issues more than ever. Customers start considers how the products or services they purchase affect on the environment and this behavior directly affect on their buying decision making. Therefore, many organizations have taken the advantage of providing eco-friendly products and services which help to win over their competitors in many cases. In term of being a part of society, businesses should reconsider their role in the community and how they can participate to improve the standard of living by apply the sustainable practice in their business. Moreover, as mentioned earlier, in the aspect of developing the environment, it is necessary for businesses to think of the issues on how their production creating a bad effect on the long term growth of the environment since this will result back to the business itself in term of human survival and development.

In conclusion, although there are many arguments against going for sustainability in business, still it is a critical issue that organizations have to concern, not only for the long term growth of the environment but also for the business development itself in the future.
