My book is The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton it is about a boy named Ponyboy who is a member of the Greasers gang, it takes place in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but it never said that in the book, the year is 1965. Ponyboy is leaving the movies, when a group "jumps him" (beats him up), that is when his brothers Darry and Sodapop save him. The next day Ponyboy and his friends Dally and Johnny go with him to the movies, when they meet a group of girls. The Socs (another group) see him (they were also the group who jumped him earlier) with their girlfriends they get really angry, so they walk up to him and attack him but he is saved by those girls. The story revolves around them and this group of girls who saved him. The main part of this book is that it is trying to convey to us the background clash between the poor Greasers gang, and the rich Socs.
The definition of a family is what Ponyboy is trying to figure out. That would be in my opinions what the book is describing to the reader. The book is very descriptive in the words they use. The only problem is that The Outsiders has a lot of drop-use, and other inappropriate terms in it. But if you like to read these kinds of books then you should go for it. The Outsiders is a really great book, I would recommend this book to anyone that doesn't have a problem with these kinds of terms, language or anything that is disturbing to anyone.
