The use of technology changed the entire health care system. The use of technology increases the ability of patient and their family to access health care related information to improve their choice to obtain health care treatment ( Englebardt & Nelson, 2002). It is consumer market, patient have more choice on availability of health care information being out for public. On the other hand, health care providers in larger aspect hospitals and health care facilities use technology to commercialize new products for patient care management. The provider and consumers emerge with the use of technology collaboratively for satisfaction and continues care nationally and internationally.

The use of technology by professionals in recent years allows health care management from outdated files that require massive physical space to computerized, online, remote, and mobile system that benefits health care professionals including doctors and nurses to update and adjust information regarding an individual care when necessary. A patient medical history can be evaluated in long distance with use of Medtronic. It allows a physician to monitor health care related activities. For example, in congested heart failure patient, the level of fluid in their patient's chest can be monitor with the help of a device called, Consulta Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillator (CRT-D). It is a wireless device with complete capture management fluid status monitoring. The efficiency of CRT-D may alter changes in patient disease or medication adjustment (Abraham, Compton, & Haas, 2009). In addition, the use of smartphone, personal digital assistants, net books have created a need in which doctors, nurses, and other health care providers need to have fast and accurate access to patient information in hospital setting and in long-term care. Mobile patient management with the use of wireless and network transmit data between health care providers and their patient's if necessary. Med Flash USB is another example of technology in relationship to patient care. It store and facilitate health information such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scan. The use of electronic medical chart provides instant access to patient records in real time. Length of hospital stay reduced tremendously in relation to use of technology in less invasive surgery. Elimination of treatment delays, and decrease hospital cost is evidence of technology. For example; in hospital setting the admission of patient allow doctors and nurse to have access to patient record such as allergies, medication reconciliation, health history, and vaccination ( Encinosa & Bae, 2011). Utilizing, technology in patient care clearly impact the future of health care delivery and optimize health care of each individual.
