Technology today is rapidly advancing. It is the age of the digital revolution, or rather the digital age, as it is no more a revolt as it is a part of our daily life. From the click of a button to start a car remotely to the unimaginable ideas of exchanging live and real - time videos and images of one another through web-cams and mobile phones, the development from tape recorders to cds to music players and finally the pods its all happened very fast, at the blink of an eye indeed.
What this essay aims to achieve is a comparison of the underpinnings on how has this modern technical age changed the way we perceive spaces around us and on a broader scale, life in general. Is the advancement of modern gadgetry helping us as human beings to live better, and be more productive? Or has it added to the already growing notions of lethargy and lack of physical daily routines in our life?
So what is technology? The internet giant Wikipedia defines it as "The word technology refers to the making, modification, usage, and knowledge of tools, machines, techniques, crafts, systems, and methods of organization, in order to solve a problem, improve a preexisting solution to a problem, achieve a goal, handle an applied input/output relation or perform a specific function.
It can also refer to the collection of such tools, including machinery, modifications, arrangements and procedures."
But today technology is anything. Anything that leads to an innovation in the way we live, behave or cultivate ourselves is technology.
