Term Paper Season

Sometimes, the fear of graduating is not really the "major major fear" senior students of San Beda College Rizal dreads to experience. It is that specific English requirement that chills your body and gives you goose bumps. It is that specific English requirement that hinders senior students from having a good night sleep. It is that specific English requirement wherein you'll surely run out of words to write and words to say. You heard it right, it's Term Paper Season.
Every year, 4th Year Students of San Beda College Rizal encounter this requirement wherein they have to right their own individual term paper about a topic of their choice. They will have to engage into consultations with their research advisers and have their questionnaires surge throughout the school. To top that, seniors will have to face the most feared Term Paper Defense. Seniors must be able to defend themselves since they will be bombarded with so many questions from the panellists regarding their term paper.
The Cub Recorder was given the chance to ask senior students of San Beda College Rizal regarding their experience in writing and defending their term paper.
It was weird. To be honest, I had a lot of time to work on it but only had the motivation to finish it during the last few days.

Writing a term paper is indeed challenging but it somehow boosted my confidence. Hearing the word DEFENSE may frighten many students, but experiencing it will prove them wrong.

In all honesty, it wasn't as hard as I expected it to be. The real problem wasn't really the content or the process of writing it, but procrastination.
Arnold Del Rosario (Pre-Engineering Class)
For me, my term paper was an achievement. There were times I even forget that I have a crush because of focusing on my term paper. I worked hard on it even though I experienced being speechless during the defense. But still, I ended my defense with a big smile because everything was finally over!
