Four Freedoms
The reason the American desire to maintain the four freedoms changed the United States roll in the world because they wanted to keep the freedom of Americans safe. They were afraid that Germany was going to eventually come to America and try and take over. Because of that it changed Americans from isolationism to nationalism changing the United States role in the world.
After WWI many countries had territorial disputes, it soon made many countries unsure who were their allies. Because of that the League of Nations was established to try and prevent another world war from happening. The problem with that was that the League of Nations had no way to enforce any thing because there wasn't any military force backing it up. While that was happening the United States began to fall into a great depression and fell back into their isolationism way of life. The great depression eventually affected many other countries forcing them back into isolationism.
WWII had some big impacts on Americans home life. Many people were still poor and unable to afford some things except for cars. Many people could afford cars during this time because the prices on them had dropped drastically because of the material being used to make them. The war also affected people's feelings about their country. Americans had more pride in their country and the war effort to protect their rights here in America. The war had helped give women and minorities more job opportunities, because most of the men here were overseas serving in the war. Many minorities had taken over jobs for men serving until they came back home.
Americas desire to maintain the four freedoms had changed the United States roll in the world. It changed it from and isolationist country to an interventionalism country.
