The Most Important Aspect of a Job Is Not the Money

Is money the only thing that matters? Most people believe that money is very important to be happy. But the writer of this essay does not share the same opinion. Working in a good environment, personal satisfaction, and contributing to society are the things that really count in a job.

Working in a good environment can make a difference. Is important to have a pleasant place to work considering that an office with a good view and enough space can improve performance at work. Also, having friendly and cooperative colleagues, turns work into something less boring and tedious.

Personal satisfaction covers everything. Someone who believes that he is the best at his job feels satisfied. This feeling cannot be compared with superficial things as money. So, this is a good way to find happiness at work, doing what a person really likes.

Finally, the job that someone does can contribute in a good way to society. Not all people care always about the money, because there are many of them who work as volunteers. As an example, the Lions Club, which is a medical service center in Quito, provides low-income people the opportunity to receive quality medical service. People, who work in that place, do it with the purpose to help others.

In conclusion, money cannot buy everything. The fact of going to work with the joy of doing what someone likes, in a comfortable place and with the vision of helping society, can never be matched by money.
