It was a real challenge for a woman to look for her individuality while holding the tradition and culture of the society in 19th century. "The Storm," by Kate Chopin depicts the similarity between two women in their different world while showing us the kind of love and care among the family at that time. "The Storm" also conveys us that a person comes across many dangerous and exciting events in his life while being totally caught up in daily routine, making him unnoticed about the fury that is about to rock his world.

In the 19th century, where it was against society for a woman to think outside the marriage and family duties, the domestic conditions made a woman feel suffocated with limited freedom. They were treated as a slave who is made to work in a limited closed area. "And the first free breath since her marriage seemed to restore the pleasant liberty of her maiden days. Devoted as she was to her husband, their intimate conjugal life was something which she was more than willing to forego for a while." (Chopin 113). This quote from the story well illustrates the desire and anxiety for freedom from her household duties as they spend majority of their life on such things. It even show us how the two wives were deeply indulge in their family life and are willing to get out of it for a while to live their part of world, just for themselves.

"The Storm" was written in 1898 by Kate Chopin which was way beyond the standard of that generation. The story wasn't published until 1969, several years after her death since it would have ignited controversy as it has many instances involving sex. The storm, in the story, acted as a catalyst that grew the lover's anxiety to rediscover their past relationship. It even made them recharged for their married lives. "He was getting on nicely; and thought he missed them, he was willing to bear the separation a while longer-realizing that their health and pleasure were the first things to be considered.( Chopin 119)." After having an awesome sex with the past love, it took them a while to digest the guilt they had. Chopin sees love and sex differently. She has tried to show love and care amongst the family at the time of approaching storm while showing fulfillment of the desire of sexuality.

Our elder teaches us never to lie and cheat anyone. Cheating has brought up an image of kindness in the old lover's respective families. But having a sexual relationship outside the marriage? It must be a really a bold decision to fulfill sexual anxiety outside the marriage in 19th century. Even today, our culture and religion don't permit anyone to have a sexual affair outside the marriage. It is no less than cheating your own husband and your kids. "Shrimps! Oh, BobinĂ´t! you too good fo' anything!" and she gave him a smacking kiss on the cheek that resounded, "J'vous
