Real love is not the giving up one's heart; it is just simply opening it up for someone to come in it. It is blind devotion, just as Miss. Havisham said, because love can go in any direction but it is not trust and belief against oneself. Love is a magnetic force that brings to people together to live happily. It doesn't mean giving everything up for one person, it means sharing everything and making the lover part of one's heart. Miss. Havisham had a cruel experience with love and therefore she is heart broken. Her heartbreak and failure to find real love has given her a corrupt deception of what love is.
Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl are two of the most powerful people on the Upper East Side. They are determined to work towards their goals and succeed in every aspect of it. They both love each other but are scared of getting hurt and loosing control in the process. Blair is a "powerful woman" and Chuck is busy working on keeping his father's legacy therefore they both feel as if they are too busy and focused to let love get in the way. Chuck is told that if he continues a relationship with Blair he will loose everything he has worked for thus far, so he refrains himself. However, love is stronger than one's thoughts on it, for love brought Chuck and Blair together.
With the attraction love forces on them, Chuck and Blair admit they love each other and they feel as if a burden has been lifted off their shoulders. Love is a blind devotion so one will have to give up some control but one cannot loose themselves in the process. Blair said that love is like being in a dark tunnel for one does not know where he/she is going but they are together so it is okay. As they move forth with their relationship, there are some twists and turns, which make it pretty difficult. The two decide to take a break so they can take some time to think about where they both stand. Love can be scary since there is always the thought of being vulnerable, but love is a risk one needs to be willing to take.
While on their relationship hiatus, Serena Van der Woodson goes MIA and she has been nowhere to be seen. Blair, being her best friend, and Chuck, her stepbrother, come together to help find her. One may say it was only fate that brought them back together, or the magnetic force of love, because everything happens for a reason. Once Serena is found, they find out there is someone not letting her go. Chuck and Blair use their common interest, scheming, to get Serena back where she belongs. They bond over finding their friend and Chuck and Blair find themselves back together, still madly in love.
