There are many different types of theories of management. The theories that we are studying are the classical management theory, behavioral management theory, systems management theory, and the contingency management theory. The classical theory focuses on finding the best way to perform and manage a task. The behavioral theory recognizes employees as individuals with human needs, as parts of work groups, and the members of a large society. Managers are encouraged to understand the dynamics of their environment to influence employee motivation. The systems theory states that an organization is made up of different parts that must perform duties necessary to achieving a common goal. The contingency theory is based on the assumption that manager's preferred actions or approaches depend on the situation they are faced with.

After researching all four of these theories I personally think the contingency theory is the best one out of the classical theory, behavioral theory, and the systems theory, because the managers get to decide if the employee gets in trouble for their actions. Such as if the employee misses work because one of their family members have died, or the employee had a family emergency, the manager would probably excuse the employee from work and they probably would not get into trouble. I also think that the other theories have not been working like they had thought that is why they came up with the contingency theory. The contingency theory has been around for a while now and it seems to be working. Employees seem to like the contingency theory because they are getting treated fairly.
