Abstract

In this essay I plan to discuss how training at Wegman's training related to its organization needs which it stands out. Next, I plan to explain how Wegmans' measure the success of the training for the company by its sells and profits. Then, I would like to i my idea on how e-learning may be appropriate training method for Wegmans' employees and trainees to undergo different situation training. Where I think that e-learning training maybe will not only save money in training cost and labor, but be more beneficial to trainees and employees that want to continue to use learning material, but also get involved with continuing education with company programs. Then finally, I plan to discuss how on-going training for employees can have a positive impact on employee retention in the company's vision.

Discuss how training at Wegmans' is related to its organizational needs.

At Wegmans' organizational needs are met with superior customer service and product training. Wegmans' trains it employees with different practical matters such as product knowledge, food safety, and cook techniques that Wegmans has develop over the years in business. The company wants to ensure that all employees are working towards common company goals that teach a cooperative friendly spirit to new employees as well as customers. They achieve this by a face-to-face to both employee to trainee and also employee to customer with the approach where new trainees hear stories about more experience employees showing care about customers.

Another way is training employees for a common goal with the learning to sell vision that follow the company sells strategy. This type of training assumes that people, who understand what they are selling, will be able to provide the customer with product/goods/service knowledge with confidence. With these skills, employees and trainees can convey product knowledge with positive attitude thus giving employees the extra freeing of being more motivated. This is follow along with the company vision which ensure that all employees are provided with selling that is competing on the basis of quality and service which is consistent of the company's strategy. The idea is to have an employee who can discuss artichoke preparation with customers can build demand for artichokes.

Wegmans also trains for cooperative friendly spirit. The system is design for experienced employees step forward to help a new trainees that maybe puzzled by a problem and help them solve it. That means they share skills and knowledge among one another allowing all employees to be cooperative.
