Marrybrown was apply the Transaction Processing System (TPS) to run their day to day operation. So, TPS is actually designed for the use in analyzing and capture information the restaurants generated during the day to day transaction (Paul, 2014). “Transaction processing” is processed of data collected from the transaction between two people. How TPS is implementing in Marrybrown is when Marrybrown occur the transaction with third parties outside the organization such as supplier. As we can observed, Marrybrown everyday selling a huge amount of chicken and hamburger, so it have to order the raw material from the supplier. A transaction will happen each time when the Marrybrown place an order with its supplier. The information such as supplier name, address, quality of the item purchase and invoice amount will finally record by the TPS. Moreover, the detail of daily business record will also listed by the TPS in order to show the manager sales of the days.
E-commerce
In order to create a highly awareness among the customer about the Marrybrown latest news, Marrybrown has utilize the power of social networking such as Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube as well. Visit the Marrybrown official website is not the only way to get the latest information about product, price, and promotion, customer can also get the information from the social network (refer to appendix 1). This is very appropriate for the customer who do not often visit the Marrybrown website but like to surf the social networking. By doing so, Marrybrown are make sure all the information will update consistency in the social sites.
After 2012 joining Facebook, Marrybrown decide to take part in the WeChat adventure and launched the Marrybrown’s Official WeChat account (refer to appendix 2). WeChat is a unique way for the Marrybrown to engage with it customer as it have over 600 million user worldwide and up to 90% of Malaysian has registered to its mobile social communication application. Marrybrown can share and broadcasting their latest and advertising and promotional activities.
Corporate Social Responsibility
On the 2012 May 20, as a sponsor Marrybrown has joined hand with the Rotary Club of Johor Centennial Charity Run to raise the fund and money for the Children’s Educational fund and Mykasih foundation (refer to appendix 2). This is one of the way Marrybrown choose to give back to the community by playing an active role in various charitable events.
According to the DagangHalal.com (2016), Marrybrown has committed in ensuring that all its product are prepared on the basic of Malaysia’s Halal requirements. Customer can enjoy the Marrybrown product with 100% peace of mind as the raw material, cooking utensils, storage facilities and preparation process are all certified Halal. By doing so, the product of Marrybrown can be consume by the Muslim as well as non-Muslim.
Operation plan
The objective of the company goal can be achieved by a proper operational plan, so operational play a significant role for a successful company. The objective of the organization set by the top management can be achieved by the resource provide by the operation plan. The objective of Marrybrown is continuous improvement and innovation, food quality and safety with excellence customer service. In order to become the partner of Marrybrown, the franchisor has develop the operation plan for the franchisee to follow.
Step to open franchise
In order to extend the number of store chain, Marrybrown has develop several step to open the franchise.
The first step is to complete and return the franchise application form to Marrybrown. For the applicant who feel that he or she is qualify after finished reading the enclosed material thoroughly, can fill out the application form and return it to Marrybrown. The applicant are ask to list down the question concerning Marrybrown franchise program so that representative of Marrybrown can answer them with effevtively and efficiently.
After review the application, applicant will invited to attend the system orientation day in Marrybrown headquarters if the applicant meet the preliminary financial and business qualification. During the visit time, applicant will meet the Franchise Sales, Operations, Training and Marketing department’s key executive, while each of them will provide the applicant an overview of their department and the support will provide to the franchisee.
Next, applicant will received notify within ten day of the visits as a sign of franchise approval if the applicant are decide to pursue a Marrybrown franchise. Then, applicant will need returning the Letter of Offer to Marrybrown and pay the franchise fee upon signing the letter.
Moreover, the appropriate franchise document will provide to the applicant to review with the attorney. The applicant are required to signing the franchise agreement and execute the document within 5 days after receipt and return them to the Marrybrown for the purpose of processing.
Hence, Marrybrown also provide the assistance in site selection. The site must be approved by the Marrybrown before the renovation project begin, but the sites approval by the company does not represent a success guarantee. An experience interior designer and kitchen specialists will appoint by Marrybrown to advise the new franchisee on the latest Marrybrown concept, design, layout, equipment, building materials and other as well.
Furthermore, Marrybrown also provide a comprehensive training for the franchisee after had done selection of the site. All the new franchisee will benefits by the Management and Skills Development Program conduct by the Marrybrown, it include the classroom session at Marrybrown School of QSR(refer to appendix 4) and practical field training in Marrybrown restaurant. A new franchisee will require to attend a 3 month course in a designated restaurant and all the training must successfully completed only the franchise restaurant allow to open for business. The franchisee will learn the basic and essential of the restaurant operation from crew, financial management and marketing tools as well. The purpose of the training is to make sure the franchisee will fully equipped to supervise the construction phase personally.
Lastly will be the pre-opening preparation, a marketing representatives will work with the franchisee to open up an effective Grand Opening Program prior to the opening of restaurant such as announce to the public through social media and their official website so that people know the launched of new outlet.
