* Play is set in a New York City Court room in 1957. It is also said that it is the hottest day of the year.

* The play takes part over two scenes in real time

* The judge tells the jury that they will be examining a murder case, and if the defendant is found guilty, the mandatory sentence is the death penalty.

* At first the jurors agree to a preliminary vote that results in a 11-1 verdict of guilty.

* 8th Juror is the one who votes not guilty. Votes 'not guilty' not because the defendant is actually innocent, but rather that he has a reasonable doubt regarding the boys guilt.

* As the play progresses, the 8th Juror challenges the others to think whether the defendant is guilty.

* Over the course he manages to change the minds of all the jurors.

* The 8th juror sets up various physical demonstrations to show that there is possibility that the verbal testimonies may have possibly been inaccurate.

* Jurors- 4,10 and most definitely the 3rd all hold firm to their not guilty vote until the final moments.
