CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

1.1        Introduction

. Technology can be the knowledge of techniques, processes, or it can be embedded in machines, computers, devices and factories, which can be operated by individuals without detailed knowledge of the workings of such things. The human species use of technology began with the conversion of natural resources into simple tools.

Similarly, information or knowledge that is spread easily and quickly to all corners of the world in line with the technology and system achieved. By doing, so many ways or facilities that is available to facilitate or expedite any work for producing quality work optimally with the technology. Although the manpower needed, but technology developed through the idea and the problems faced by the people themselves or an organization.

Furthermore, this technology can also be used on all existing industry such as manufacturing industry, automotive industry, and so on. Inventory is basically acquired goods from a factory or shop from manufacturers or manufacture for sale to benefit from the proceeds of the sale. Thence technology is needed to facilitate the management of the organization to ensure that inventory can be managed properly obtained and strategic. In addition, it is easy to get the accuracy and control of the implementation of standard procedures for the flow of materials.

Inventory is an idle material resource of an enterprise awaiting future sales, use, or transformation. Inventory also is the stock of any item or resource used in an organization and can include raw materials, finished products, component parts, supplies, and work in process.

1.2        Background of UCAMart

UCAMart launch was graced by Tuan. Hj. MohdNajib bin A. Samad, Hon. Director General RISDA on 6 September 2016 and has been operating on 25 October 2016 and was inspired by Chief Executive University College of Agroscience Malaysia, DatukDr.FaridahHanambtMohd Rashid. The main goal of the establishment to collect the results of the farm run by students of agriculture drained, staff and employers drained out like a village nearby. In addition to collecting the results of the farm, UCAMart also help them generate more revenue and provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to sell products that have been commercialized.

The method used is based on sales in cash and consignment sales. In terms of cash sales methods, management find a supplier or manufacture that offers affordable and high quality in the products produced. This is because UCAMart very conscious of price and quality of each product or product sold. UCAMart while also using the method of consignment of suppliers deliver the products to UCAMart for sale and the proceeds of the sale UCAMart like to grant a commission on each product as well as goods that cannot be sold will be returned to the supplier.

1.3        Purpose of study

The aim of this study was undertaken to change the old management to better management and efficient and systematic with their technology or systems specially designed for inventory out in the centre of farm products sales UCAMart.. System developed also easier to understand and fun to be learned by all staff who works carried UCAMart. It also helped UCAMart to manage inventory in and out every day at a certain time. Even with the diversity of inventory such as fruits, vegetables and fresh produce it will take some time to process the data with the management of the old one, but with the new management is very easy with the provided diagrams to identify inventory that is in UCAMart. It also can reduce spending and to manage their time better.

1.4        Objective of study

There are some problems faced by UCAMart in managing inventory and out manually, and then these proposed systems to meet the following objectives:

  1. To Identify the history of UCAMart and problems faced and how to overcome them.
  2. To understanding the management style used by UCAMart.
  3. The system creates a more systematic and user-friendly.

1.5        Statements problem.

Research conducted to examine the effectiveness of the technology applied in UCAMart through inventory system to ensure each stock or materials to be analysed or examined store stock for each stock can be controlled with regular terms and out of inventory every day. This is because:

  1. Manual management cannot provide accuracy gains from the sale and provide accuracy in the remaining amount of existing stocks.
  2. Furthermore, the shortage of labour is a significant impact on the management UCAMart to constantly monitoring the stock from time to time.
  3. System manual is not a user friendly and takes a lot of time to finish it.
  4. Also no inconsistent data backup and recovery of the data. From there, these studies require an orderly system to control entry and exit of existing inventory.
