However Atticus has proof that Tom is no way possible guilty of the crime. (Harper, Lee)
The main point that Lee wants readers to take away, I think is that fact that killing someone or something that is innocent is sinful, and wrong. If a person is innocent they should be left alone, and if there is proof to show that the person is innocent, then they should not be given the verdict of Guilty. It is a saying that a person is innocent until proven guilty. I also think that Lee wants people to understand that fact as well. (Harper,Lee)
This book in fact does leave a mark on me. I think that it is horrible to kill someone that is completely innocent. I am currently in the process of following a story, where a boy was killed because he "LOOKED suspicious. This boy was followed and killed because he had a black hooded jacket on and began to run, once the officer started chasing him. The officer in this situation was questioned and released and is not behind bars. Now there is a family that has to bury their 14 year old son. This story shows how bad racism was and how it can affect lives. I am now aware of how bad racism was, and I'm still shocked because to this day we are still dealing with the situation. (Lee,Harper)
