The business world is constantly growing, changing, and becoming more of a competitive place to be in, companies need to bring their A game to the consumers. It is no longer an option to rely on just knowing your customers are going to be loyal to your brand, or store, you must always be a few steps ahead of your competitor. Walgreens is proving to able to transform and adapt to the changes that are needed to stay in competition with CVS Pharmacy.
Walgreens has transformed its beauty into a slicker glossy offering; this is going to give it the edge needed to prevail. After acquiring NY drugstore Duane Reade, Walgreens has caught the attention for its approach to beauty. While many people are going to Walgreens for their convenience products, it is now opening itself up to be a place in which people can now spend time and money on shopping products. Makeup and beauty supplies are important products that are taken with time to see which will work well with your complexion, skin type, and even your favorite brands.
In a good business model, the company has clear objectives, and with this revamping of the beauty sections and clear directions focused on skin care, Walgreens will be able to get the results they are looking for. By bringing in trained beauty advisers that are available for the consumers, they will be giving themselves a large competitive advantage because unlike going to a department store and spending much more on the products, you can trust the products you are getting and know that your problems are being solved. The designs of the beauty section are in an "urban beauty format" and are inviting and airy to let people come in and browse. The entire market segment to which Walgreens is aiming is a great area to focus on. With the new displays that have been seen in stores like Sephora, and the nail polish display that is bright and colorful are added into making the change over that much better. These types of changes are going to be beneficial for Walgreens and they are types of things that are going to be an unexpected thing for customers which will be beneficial because they will end up buying more products after they see the large addition of beauty products Walgreens is now offering.
I firmly believe that going through the changes that it has with everything from the way that they are using their social media, and the Internet to educate and draw in shoppers, to the way that they have been able to launch new brands are just going to add to the ways they will be successful in the beauty department. Beauty products are something important and vital for many shoppers, but being available at a more affordable price point is going to be what Walgreens is going to excel at.
