My presentation is on a Retail Manager position for Walmart. Because Walmart is the leader in the retail industry, it is a well established company. Being a Walmart manager is a chance to stand at the forefront of retailing. It is an opportunity for you to make a difference. The responsibilities are big and require true dedication and leadership qualities. Walmart is the world's largest retailer with $405 billion in sales for the fiscal year ending Jan. 31, 2010. Who hasn't heard of Walmart? This retailer is located in 15 different countries; has more than 9005 different retail stores; has more than 200 million customers per week; employs 2.1 million associates across the world and had $405 billion in sales for the fiscal year of 2010. Walmart's mission statement is "Saving people money to help them live better." (Walmartsores.com. 2011) This is the original mission statement that Sam Walton, founder of the company, put into place when he opened the first retail store. In today's trends and current issues in the global marketplace Walmart is very active and socially conscience. They are involved in a variety of projects that will create a stronger, safer, and intelligent community. Some of these commitments include issues with the environment, the community, and the people of the community. ) Walmart's stance on CSR is a strong, empowering, positive force in the world and is evident in today's trends and current issues in the global marketplace
