Web or Mobile System
Timothy Thacker
In today's society it is imperative that any company that plans on continuous success has to reach out to its customers through the Internet. It is also important that they be able to organize their materials via a web-based solution. Riordan Manufacturing currently has four sites San Jose, California, Albany, Georgia, Pontiac, Michigan, and Hangzhou, China, operating on different networks. Riordan is currently handling its entire inventory and manufacturing processes through manual interventions. Although this process has still yielded the company as a Fortune 1000 company, the processes are time-consuming and counterproductive with the company's current procedures. Our goal is to centralize this process for Riordan, by implementing a web-based system that allows the company to enter its inventory into their new database by using barcode software. Integrated Information Infocube System (IIIS) has decided to implement a Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system, and Core IMS Executive Edition (EE) as Riordan's inventory and management software. This product will give Riordan the inventory and management power that will set them on the leading edge of technology, and significantly improve the day-to-day operations. See Figure 1 for a snapshot of Core IMS EE features.
