This week I have learned the importance of effective communication. The Encoding process is important to achieve understandability and proper interpretation during the decoding process when received by the attended audience.
Channeling is the process for which the message is sent; be it verbal, email, letter, fax, or memo. This process is important to acknowledge before the Encoding process, because different types of Channels require a different approach in wording in order to get the meaning across.
Decoding is the process of interpreting the received message in a way of understanding the meaning. This is the process used in ensuring sender and the recipient, are in alignment when it comes to comprehension of the message.
Feedback completes the process. This is where the receiver has processed the message and has communicated to the sender the understanding of that message. This is a very important part of the process because the interpretation of the receiver is forwarded back to the sender; allowing the sender recognition of the encoding process being decoded understandably or if maybe the receiver is in need of further explanation.
I have also learned this week that Technology also has its drawbacks as well as its advantages. One advantage of technology is that it has made it easier for people who have a lesser chance of completing their education do to isolation, or time can now achieve it via online school. The internet makes it possible to access information and research much faster.
The disadvantage of Technology is that it tends to dehumanize the world around us; for example, the other day I was watching all the grandchildren, and friends, ranging in age 6 through 16. All the children throughout the entire house were texting from their cell phones, when I discovered that two of them were actually texting each other (one in the restroom with the door open doing her hair, and the other in the living room polishing her nails).
