What is a friend? According to Aristotle, "a friend is a single soledwelling in two bodies."

Friendship plays and important role in our lives, to a large extent. Friends can help you find the meaning of life by helping you overcomechallenges, they are people in your life that care for you and they simple add joy andmeaning to your life.

Friends help you overcome challenges you may face at times in your life. A special thing about friendship is that friends have the ability to do this different ways like simply talking something through and giving advice or physically helping you. As Cher says "I can trust my friends. These people to force me to examine and encourage me to grow." In difficult times, friends make you see things from a different point of view, allowing you to take time to reflect and examine the situation. By doing this it allows you to see another perspective of the situation and find another way to overcome your challenge. Thus friends can help you to overcomechallenges by talking things through, which is supported by this verse found in the book of Proverbs in the Bible "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpen his friend's countenance." Not only can friends help you overcome challenges through giving another perspective, but they can also help physically through a situation. Like the old saying "many hands make light work", this point is also drawn from the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible. It says "Two are better than one; because they have good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up." This scripture supports the point that friends help physically through situations, like for example falling the other helping you up. Friends help us to find the meaning of life by helping us overcomechallenges, as John Lennon says "I get by with a little help from my friends."

Not only do friends help you through situations, but they go about this through love. Friends are people in your life that love and care about you. They will not only help you through something but they are the ones that will always be there for you in those times of need. They care about you and how you feel and that is what makes them a true friend. In Proverbs 17:17 it says: "A friendloveth at all times." As it says in this Proverb, a friend loves you at all times and sees only the good in you. A friend is someone who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself. They help you to find the meaning of life because they let you know that there is someone out there that cares for you and that you are valuable to someone else in this world.

Friends are not only there to help you, but they also add fun, happiness and joy to ones life. They add fun, happiness and joy as you can relate to each other and share the
