When we collect information about a child it is important that both parents and guardians are informed about this right from the start of enrolment. The parents or guardians should also be told that gathering observations is a regular part of our service and it is there to benefit their child in terms of development. Assistants, group leaders, directors and any staff coming in contact with the child should also know that information about the child should always be kept confidential and never e discussed with anyone who is not directly working with the child. Permission must always be gotten from the child's parents. Access to any records about the child should always be kept in a secure place but always accessible for parents and guardians.
When doing observations they should never be biased or negative in any way and without labelling
Words that label children such as cheeky", "disobedient" or " spoilt" should never be used as it is
The child correctly in terms of their environment.
