My childhood 3

I never would have thought I would be 29 years old and going back to school. I have

planned to go to college right after high school, but life doesn't always happen the way we plan.

In this paper, I will present a brief description of a few of my childhood experiences that has

helped me become who I am today and analyze some of these experiences using the adult

development theories from this class. I will also tell you about my goals I want to accomplish

in the future. ( Gudy Graduate 2010 PSY 202)

I grew up in a divorce home I never got to enjoy my mom and dad together. Both my mom

and dad were drop outs, and they met when they were in school together. My mom has always

said that my dad use to ride a horse over to my mom house but she wanted nothing to do with

him because he didn't have the best rep in town. One day she finally went out with him and look

in them baby blue eye and was hooked. Due to the way my grandmother was she told them if

they were going to see one another they were going to have to get married so they did. Shortly

after they were married my mom started having kids. By the age of 21 years old she had my

sister, brother,and me.

My earliest childhood memories were of me growing up in Dallas,Texas,as the youngest

of three. My sister is about 4 years older than me and my brother is 2 years older than me. When

I ask my mom what happen with her and my dad she said everything was good until I was a

year old. She said that's when my dad deiced that he didn't want to be a family man and started

going out. One night he went out and was at the wrong place at the wrong time and winded up in

prison for about 7 years. When my dad got lock up she had no choose but to get a job. Due to my

mom not fishing school she had no work experience and could not get a good job. Because she

could not find a job we had to live were ever we could. When she finally found a job that would

give her a chance it didn't pay nothing she was only making 2.75 a hour. When you make that

little of money and have three kids to raise you don't have no money for anything else. I was

probably about 3 years old when my mother met one of my step dads. When he came along things

got better because he made lot's of money and we were able to get our own place to live. Things

were going good until I was 6 years old and my dad was released from prison. My dad started

trouble with my step-dad because he wanted my mom back but she didn't want him. After a wile

my dad deiced to move on. By that time my mom and step dad divorce and she re marry my

second step-dad. Things went good up until my mom deiced to let our dad have us she was tired

of raising us on her own. That's when all hell broke lose
