Part 1
Choice A
* Quality of Content - I think the content was good because it was simple and progressive from what a simple paragraph looks like in html and xbrl. At the same time it did not seem to teach how to actually use xbrl but instead just what it looked like in simple form. I would give this 3stars.
* Ease of use - This was very simple to use because it was through youtube. It was not designed great as far as it being appealing but only because I think it was meant to be simple. Again I would give this 3 stars.
* Potential for learning - It did reinforce the concepts progressively but I feel that it was just to simple for anyone at the collegiate level. It was something I feel could be used for teaching at the high school level. Great resource for being able to identify xbrl but that is it. I would rate this with 2 stars.
In total Choice A would receive 8 stars. Charlie Hoffman absolutely identified xbrl and was progressive in the difference between simple unstructured text and xbrl structured text.
Choice E
* Quality of Content - The book provides very good quality. The book defines what xbrl is, how it is used, and what the benefits are of xbrl. I give it 4stars.
* Ease of use - It is a book which means it is very easy to use. It lays everything out and then gives us pictures to help identify more complex ideas. I give it 4stars.
* Potential for Learning - The book did very well at clearly defining XBRL. It took us through where XBRL came from and what the benefits are. It was very simple thought so we could not become experts on the subject. I give it 3stars.
In total Choice E would get 11 stars. I thought this was a very good resource and went through the concept very well. I like that it explained some of the benefits such as that XBRL was interpretable.
Choice B
* Quality of Content - I thought the quality was average. It was relevant and summarized well but coming out of it I could not identify anything about tags or what XBRL looked like. I would give it 2stars.
* Ease of use - The video was very easy to use but visually it was unappealing and not designed very well. All it was is stick figures sitting behind desks. I would have liked to seen examples of what it looks like. I would give it 2stars.
* Potential for learning - The only thing that this video did was give the foundation for what XBRL is and why it is used. Again I could still not identify XBRL after watching this video. I would give it 2stars.
This video would get 6stars. I did not feel that the video did much more than simply try to promote XBRL. It did not seem to be a learning tool as much as a promotional tool.
