ZANTIS NILAY COMPANY

Zantis Nilay Company is a pharmaceutical firm created from the takeover of Nilay Medical by Zantis Pharmaceuticals. The American firm Zantis has consolidated its position in the US and Latin America and has now decided to venture into Europe. Thus the takeover of the Turkish firm Nilay is an interesting investment for Zantis. Indeed we can emphasised the strong performance of Nilay and the strategic importance of its presence in Turkey. Moreover, this company does drug research and owns several raw materials suppliers and a domestic distributorship, this will allow Zantis-Nilay to operate globally and to focus on the core business: the development of life-saving drugs.
However, this recent takeover has brought financial, economic and human issues in the new-born company. These problems need to get fixed to improve the company’s performances and atmosphere in the workplace.
Yvonne Latimer, the new CEO of Zantis Nilay, has decided to organise a problem-solving meeting next week to discuss the following points:
- Communication
- Low morale
- Team building
- Goal sharing
- Knowledge management
- Loyalty incentives
- Redundancy planning
- Intercultural training
- English as the official company language
8- Intercultural training
We discern that a lot of employees have difficulties to understand cultural aspect in the company. This is probably due because:
- They have more responsabilities but they are not more paid
- Their work start to being diluted
- The things move too fast in the company
- The fact to speak English is a bad idea
It would be useful to have some intercultural training after the takeover. So, we propose to all employees to explore the powerful cultural values that lead to the very visible differences in the way people interact socially and at work. We would like to organize some intercultural courses in order to learn more about cultures and countries abroad. Also, as you know, Turkey has strong cultural connections with some Asian countries, so why not organizing a Chinese New Year with all colleagues. The goal is to discover different cultures in celebrating traditional festivals for example.
9- English as the official company language.
We all know that speak English is not easy for all employees in a company. We heard that there is different problem about that subject because:
- Imposing English language in the company is stupid
- Not everybody can speak so they leave the company
- They need more respect in their team work
In order to improve their English, we have the idea to propose some English courses to learn more about the English business words. Also, we thought to organise a seminars to an English speaking country as America to allow employees to be in immersion in the English culture and to speak with English people.
