I witnessed a dishonesty by my best friend and it was shocking to me. Our motto was things that happen, we don't speak on it. I was okay with that motto until this incident. She stole some money from her own mother. It all started when we were getting ready to go out of town for the day. It was her, her mom, her grandmother, and me. Everyone was getting ready and I witnessed my best friend take some money out of her grandmother's purse and she did not see me see her take it. I could not believe my eyes. I didn't know how to approach or just leave it alone. We made it to our destination and the whole time, I was thinking about what I had saw. Every store we went to, she was spending her grandmother's money. She acted like it was just another day. I began having thoughts like, "I wonder if she would do that to me." I was quiet and still thinking what I should do and when we got back to the house to unload everything and then take me home, I pulled her to the side to talk to her. She denied it and I literally caught her in a lie. I told her I saw her and told her she return the money or I would say something. She said she would return it or so I thought. I called her grandmother a week later to ask her about something and her grandmother began telling me that some money had came up missing. I went on ahead and told her that her granddaughter took it and she told me she would return it. The grandmother then asked her and she denied and then confronted me. She isn't talking to me anymore because of it. I thought it was the right thing to do because I started thinking that wasn't the first time that has happened and she could have done that me. A friendship is based on trust and I am a firm believer of that. I knew when I told her grandmother, that it could end our friendship and I was prepared for it but I also feel okay about my decision too.

If I had it to do all over again, I would do the same thing. I have to live with it and have to be able to live with the decision. I was brought up to use your best judgment. It is important to know this so one can get through life through thick and thin.
