What would you like the GGSB admissions board to know about your professional work or academic experience?
I've finished graduation in 2010. It was rather difficult to combine studies with entrance examinations but I've coped with that and was accepted. I've always thrived under pressure and craved a challenge. I use my competitive drive to set high standards for and to better myself. I have goals and ambitions like most people, and am always looking for a more efficient strategy to accomplish them.
Before my graduation the teachers and students alike preached the importance of learning, but it was implicitly obvious that the most important concern was grades. At school teachers genuinely believe that learning is the most importance objective and deeply encourage us to collaborate with each other and make use of all resources that we may find. In graduation the main focus was not only learning theoretical knowledge but also knowing practical application of the theories being discussed. There were lots of group discussions and presentations included in our course and I have actively taken part in each of them, which gave information about different topics, and also helped in knowing practical side of theoretical knowledge being discussed in studies, which further gave insight knowledge about the subject.
Being a commerce student, I have always been interested in subjects like finance, marketing and economics. I have done many projects and given presentations in marketing, finance and organisational behaviour. Most of the projects required full application of the learned theories, like marketing project included doing full market research for a product along with 4 P's and segmentation, targeting and positioning etc. The part of our curriculum also included discussion of case studies which gave insight about usage of our studies in real life problems and most insightful were case studies discussed in organisational behaviour which gave depth information about attitudes, values and also leadership qualities and much more. Along with my education I have also taken part in college competitions and have also won such as artificial stock market and logo designing competition.
Also in our course included group projects which not only helped us by providing us different viewpoints and approach towards the same problem or issue, but also improved our leadership skills by listening others, managing the work loads, building team spirit by helping others and much more.
Along with internship, the college also organised industrial trip where in students were brought more closer to professional work environment and also followed by interaction with the manager to provide further clarifications.
