Agency Report Woman to Woman
This agency report is done on NCADD (National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence) Woman to Woman Recovery Program. In this report I will discuss the purpose of Woman To Woman Recovery Program, the population that served, the requirements that must be met to be severed by Woman To Woman, the services that Woman To Woman performs... The mission of NCADD-Long Beach Woman to Woman Recovery Programs is to reduce the incidence and prevalence of the diseases of alcoholism and drug addiction, and to reduce the effects of domestic violence on its victims. So within the mission statement we learn what the purpose of Woman to Woman Recovery Program is and that is to reduce the incidence and prevalence of the diseases of alcoholism and drug addiction, and to reduce the effects of domestic violence on its victims. This program offers education and prevention programs on the diseases of alcoholism and drug addiction and related problems including domestic violence in order for individuals, families and communities to have better, safer lives. Woman to Woman has been providing hope, help and healing to the communities they serve since 1974. The communities that are served by Woman to Woman are Long Beach, San Pedro, Gardena, Carson, Lomita, Harbor City and surrounding areas. Woman to Woman is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. Woman to Woman accept referrals from the court, probation, social services and a people may referral themselves. The population that is served is mainly women that have been arrested and on their way to the state penitentiary, instead of going to the penitentiary they go to the outpatient drug court program that also includes a residential program if they have no type of living arrangement and if they complete the program successfully their court case gets dropped.
The Woman to Woman program is will staff by a group of dedicated people they have nine administration staff members. To cover the domestic violence there are three counselors. In the child care department there are two dedicated women caring for the children of the ladies in the program. Positive Choices is a program for the youth where there are two counselors in charge of that program. The residential and satellite program have a program coordinator, two counselors and five support staff. Last but not less drug court, there is a program coordinator and two counselors.
In conclusion my experience at this facility has been up and down but that in no way reflex on the facility itself. This program is a wonderful program design to give people their lives back and to reunite families back together again. Over all my time here has been a wonderful experience and has given me another program to be part of the network that I will be using.
