Alternative Funding
Organizations may not always be able to receive enough funding through grants or contracts to keep business going. Other ideas and alternatives would need to be sought out. Fundraising themselves would be a nontraditional way to raise money. The PEACE agency is in a large metropolitan city, with residents that would be willing to help out their community. Having a community festival for a weekend would bring in a great crowd and they could raise the money that they needed from the admission and tickets sold. The first step would be to find a nice wide open plot of land to have it at, such as a sports stadium, large parking lot, or park. Finding sponsors from local businesses to help pitch in in some type of way would be beneficial as well. An example would be asking a Little Caesars if they would be willing to donate a pizza trailer, or maybe some volunteer workers to help out with the carnival. The carnival could go for a whole weekend and each night they could have a main attraction, and sell tickets of the event. Some events could be finding some type of performing artist to volunteer their services by putting on a show, maybe having a BMX bike race, or monster truck show. Carnival rides, games and food would also be included, and finding sponsors throughout the community would be needed. It would cost money to put on the carnival, but the incoming funds would reimburse the amounts plus give them a profit to help out the agency.
