Animals Feel and See Like Humans So Treat them Like Humans
Animal abuse has become a terrible problem in our country. It has spread throughout the United States as our citizens have become depraved and sadistic. The acts of pitting two or more animals against each other or against a human, has been a practice since the gladiatorial games in the coliseum of Rome. People believe those animals are just animals. Nothing could be further from the truth, as Sararnzokie Evelyn says, "Animals experience pleasure and pain and should not be made to suffer as the instruments of human satisfaction". Animals have feelings too.
Only people can change the lives of animals. As the article in petside said, "Animals cannot speak up when you see something say something". One of the worst animal abuses going on in America today is dog fighting. As the article in Petside.com stated, "Dog fighting is considered to be a felony in most countries. Stronger laws mean tougher punishments, and animal cruelty offenders need to be punished using the strongest punishments allowed by law". Research has stated that those who abuse animal have a past of torture themselves. Sixteen thousand dogs are being killed each year and the only thing changing is that amount of number of dogs being killed. This is becoming and growing to be a problem in each and every state in the United States and fear that without the help of good citizens the growth of the sport is not going to slow anytime soon. An even more major issue is abuse going in companies. Without audio footage there would be no proof. "In 2011 a video from the humane society of the United States showed workers chemically burning the legs of Tennessee walking horses. Federal prosecutors quickly charged and convicted the suspects and credited HSUS for providing the evidence" said Hesieh Steven. It is just sad and scary to see someone pull a move like this. Those horses suffered went through all that pain for no reason. They did no harm to nobody and the sad thing about it is people want those who did that to them off the hook. Salon article stated that "Farm lobbyist and supporting lawmakers want to close the shutters on video cameras exposing animal cruelty across the country". If they have it their way, animal rights group says, "They will lose an important tool for holding animal cruelty accountable". This is why people need to put their shoes down and fight!
The United States has failed to protect animals from cruelty, sexual assult, and neglect. "The animal legal defense fund report finds, the 2012 U.S animal prtotection laws ranking is the seventh annual report to asses animal protection laws across the U.S it rates each region in 15 categories. That category includes law enforcement, cruelty, reporting, and sexual assult" (Animal cruelty laws). The U.S needs tougher and better laws. Without proof
