CHAPTER 4 - DESIGN SPECIFICATION
1. Introduction
This chapter will indicate the aspects of user interface that displays the information of detailed understanding of user needs and requirements. This will discuss how the user will communicate with the system and the description of the user interface.
1.1 Goals and objectives
The development of the Annual Financial Report Data Warehousing will help the Commission on Audit to keep the records of all financial reports by using a database as storage. Since the system is online, it will provide a web-based environment that the user can use easily with the help of the internet connection. The Data Warehouse has sections for Search screens, Resources, Standardized Agency, Organization, and Department reports. In search screen, agencies can find their financial records and reports easily. But there are types of reports like confidential and public. Confidential reports cannot be searched because it is for the agency itself. The reports generated into a spreadsheet with all the financial information of a certain agency within a year. It depends on the request of any agency; it can be annual or quarterly manner. It is saved as on excel or on word depending on the format that COA constructed.
Ensuring the privacy of such information, giving an access code to every agency will secure their financial reports against the other agency. And also the users have different access type in order to prevent leakages on confidential documents and to maintain the data warehouse well.
1.2 Statement of scope
The proposed project was a on a data warehouse environment that covered the major processes of issuing an annual financial reports in Commission on Audit only. The proposed system will also provide reports for decision making regarding the budget of every agencies.
This project will only cover the transactions that were being made on the Commission on Audit and it will only focus on the Financial Reports and Documents.
1.2.1 Major Inputs
* Department's name, address user name, and email address that is needed in registration of user's account.
* Department's information needed in recording a annual financial report.
* Staff's name, address, username, and email address for account registration.
