Introduction
The Main purpose of the analysis is basically to apply the theoretical knowledge gained through learning human resources staffing and planning in to practical scenarios in the work life.
In order to confirm the purpose of the analysis I selected the job role of “Brand Manager” at Nestle Lanka Private Limited. The analysis also contains the relevant documents needed in order to perform the functions of the staffing and planning effectually and successfully. Hope this analysis indeed will provide a thorough learning outcome which complies with the theoretical aspects of Human Resource Planning and Staffing.

Nature of the Job and the Industry Background
“Brand Management” is basically the ability of providing insights on finding new opportunities in a highly comprehensive challenging business arena. Particularly within the fast moving consumer goods sector (FMCG), “Brand Management” is a rewarding and expanding sector in the marketing function.
Brand Management is a vital component of the business in today’s context. Where there is a substantial demand for good FMCG brand mangers as well as for other sectors in business such as retail, banking, mobile telecommunications etc.
Most importantly employer will seek for professionals who pursue a strong sense of creativeness, organizational skills, moreover professionals with regional experiences and knowledge will be extremely attractive since brand management deals with handling high profile brands with large budgets.
Finally I hope this analysis will confirm functionality of a brand manager for the fullest extent as mentioned above.
Job Design
Job designing for the post of the “Brand Manager” is a process which contains several important steps to be implemented in order to derive an effective job role since it is a highly competent managerial job. At Nestle the job of “Brand Manager” was designed according to a sequence of steps viz,
- Identification of duties and Responsibilities
Job designing is basically the function of arranging tasks, duties and responsibilities in to an organization unit of work as per the theoretical aspects.
At Nestle the role “Brand Manager” should perform a wide range of duties and responsibilities in order to derive a favorable outcome for the organization and most importantly to gain a competitive edge over the rivals since the company’s driving force will be its BRAND.Exhibit 01 shows the categorized duties and responsibilities of the “Brand Manager” of Nestle PLC.[pic 3]

- Techniques Used
As per designing of the job of brand manager at Nestle the techniques used were not identifiable because of lack of information found.
But as per the knowledge gained I recommend the “Professional Technique” to be used as the source to design this job. This technique basically used for professional jobs which requires skilled services.
- Professional technique allows the professional to design his/her job. So, it is assumed that Brand Manager is competent enough to all the duties of the profession successfully, since he/she posses’ adequate experience.
- Work Schedule Analysis
Working arrangements are a part of job design. It’s essential for an organization to adopt to a alternative work schedule since it leads to motivate employees in many aspects where productivity increases eventually.
