2. History, Products and Operations
History
This Company was established in year 1996 by Mr. Ram Niwas Bansal who started with a seed capital of 1 Lac Rs/- which he borrowed from his father.
His main vision was to become a pioneer in the footwear segment which caters to the low income group with the quality that is at par excellence as well as sees all season of the year. The main reason behind this is because India's prime contribution comes from agriculture and it employs labor which always works in muddy water or rainy season. A footwear has to stand all this and provide the reliability for at least a year or two. Anything less can't be considered successful in this market segment.
Products
Initially Mr. Bansal preferred to produce only PVC footwear e.g. slippers and shoes primarily made of plastic. Gradually he started making further advanced PU based footwear for the market which provides the better finish product to the end user.
They primarily have two brands namely EVO and BRUNO which spans all the footwear types.
Operations
This company was started with only 2 employees in 1996.Now they employ close to 15-18 employees in their factory. Every day they produce close to 650 pairs of soles which roughly come to 2 lakh pairs of soles a year.
To make the product the company uses artificial leather which is a combination of chemicals and which is made up of either PVC finish or PU finish. For the upper portion of the shoe or slipper they use Rexin which is again a plastic by product.
They also make Plastic shoe covers which are used for excellent liquid protection. The advantage of using plastic is the ability to tailor the weight of this synthetic from ultra-lightweight to super heavy duty, depending on the requirements of the job. Cost is either low or at worst reasonable so this substance is attractive to high volume users or low income group.
