There is no doubt that the concept of big government and small government have resulted in a great deal of confusion. There are so many different opinions on this topic, and there is no a best answer. Many tax payers think that small government is always better because of the high tax rates. However, in my perspective, I think both big and small government have their adventage and disadventage because they are both benefical in some ways. Big government; on the one hand, invloved in numerous sectors of the society, so it tend to have all the powers in the government's hands. In this case, the services for the society would be more organized since the government will be involving in every part of the system. In addition, there will be a certain level of transparency of government's working process, and it is easy to find out where the cash flow goes. Nevertheless, Big government can be wasteful. Mismanagement in government sometimes causes wastes of taxpayer's Money. Also, big goverment sometimes provides inefficient services because they are involving in too many activities, so it usually takes time to process all kinds of services. Moreover, a big government have to protect the basic rights of people as well as corporates. So it is hard for them to bring about accountability in the society. On the other hand, small government only provides basic serivces for the society; it restricts its role to important events. Small government leaves activities that are considered less important to private enterprises, charities, and the individuals in the society. In my opinion, I think small government can be also double-edged. A small government is effective as it concentrates on a few, but important attributes of the society. Additionally, private company may provide better services because the every single enterprise provides specific services that they usually deal with. In this case, small government can be effective and efficient. However, small government may result in an underfunded education system and unsupported working welfare. The living standard of the soicety will definitly goes down. Both big government and small government are two-sided, and there is no correct answer. I think the best way may be taking advantages from both of them, and try to form a government with those advantages.
