We are writing to propose and recommend to the Local Network to give support in fulfilling official requirements with the UN Global Compact 10 principles. The 2 Principles that our company are going to talk about are principle 2 and 7. It states that in principle 2 "Businesses should make sure they are not complicit in human rights abuses." And principle 7 states that "Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges."

Veolia Environment goal is to make earth a better environment to live in. In order to do so, the company need to satisfy the stakeholders in relation to the UN Global Compact. The stake holders for the company are the society, government, the employees and the stakeholders itself.

Veolia Environment is the word leader in environmental services. Our company experiences around the world in dealing with the environmental issues have allowed us to provide recommendations and suggestion to the local network in relation to the global compact principles. As stated in the company's mission, we acknowledge the importance of the environmental challenges and human rights issue.

Veolia has been supporting the communities worldwide. The company had provide humanitarian aid to the countries that been hit by natural disasters. We are very committed in providing humanitarian aid. In 2004, a foundation was created. It is called the Veolia Foundation. There are 2 main priorities in this foundation. The 2 are financial support, which funds project and skills support, which addresses emergency humanitarian. The United Nations (UNICEF) and Veolia Environment work together to provide any necessary assistance to the country in need. Our company practices are similar to the Global Compact principles.

Before we can support the UN Global Compact, we need to:

* Introduce our company background, vision, innovations and what we had done in the past

* Educate the society about the products that we use

* Comply with the local and international regulations

* Transparency

We have 3 main recommendations that would help that we would like you to view:

* Creating a social network for the company (eg. Facebook, twitter)

* Monitoring the situation according to the society needs

* Encourage best practice through innovation, appropriate solutions and community engagement

RECOMMENDATIONS I

Creating a social network for the company

From what you can see from our website, we already launched a website for the kids (http://www.kidslovecities.com/en/). This website will educate kids the different area we are specialise in. We would like to create another social network for the society. This network will show what the company is doing with the society. Pictures, videos and audio will be uploaded on the website. By doing this, there will be transparency between the company and the society. Some of the example that we can upload the websites pictures of the company ongoing and upcoming projects, videos of the employees working with the society. The web will also show the machinery and products that the company using for the projects and new innovation from the company. Videos of projects will be uploaded to tell the society what the development of our project. The society can feedbacks from the website itself and all feedbacks will be taken seriously.

Who will benefit?

There are many integrated benefits that local networks and the shareholder would get. The local networks would know what the company are doing with the society and how the company works. The interest group will be clearer what is the company mission and vision. They will know that the projects and the machinery our company use would not go against the UN Global compact.

Besides the society and the local networks, the company would also gain from it. Firstly, the company name would be in the good
