When going to a build your own burrito place, your truly can't mess around. Living in Texas, I've been to several different burrito places such as Freebirds, Zookas, and Chipotle all of which you go down a cafeteria line choosing your tortilla and what you would like to add in your burrito. But there is one burrito place that stands out among the rest, Cabo Bob's.

Cabo Bob's is a locally owned business in Austin, Texas that is mainly know for its giant homemade burrito's, pure sugar cane sodas, and it's stress free environment. What separates Cabo Bob's from its competitors is the quality of all of their products from the tortillas and all the fillings in the burritos to even the soda, Cabo Bob's stays on top in each category.

When you first walk in you can definitely sense the vibe of things and that is, Cabo Bob's is a laid back and chill environment. The workers there are all in tie-dye shirts and are extremely helpful when asking about the food; they all seem educated on the restaurant. The store has an island feel to it with surfboards on the wall and even a very pretty mural type painting above where you order your burrito of a man seated beachside admiring waves crashing to the land. I personally like the arrangement of the restaurant and the theme very much.

Now that the restaurant has received it's admiration lets get to the food. Once in line you will have the choice of four different flour tortillas to choose from, all of which are unbleached and untreated tortillas with their own specific flavors: Buttermilk Flour, Cilantro Tomatillo, Ancho Chili, and Smokey Cheddar. They then take the dough flatten it out and cook the tortilla right before your eyes, which is a very neat aspect they have added.

Once you have chosen your tortilla you then choose your rice. You have the choice of lime white rice for traditional flavor or jasmine brown rice, both with are grown on certified organic farms in Texas. Then to add on the top of your rice is three choices of beans which are Black Beans, Pinto Beans, or the more flavorful Baja Beans which are made with sautéed veggies and then four more unique types of beans; Anasazi, Caramanto, Navy, and Black!

Now for the fun part, the meats, Cabo Bob's fajita chicken and beef are especially what separate them from competition because they are also organic and grilled over Natural Oak Charcoal for the true Mexican flavor, which you definitely notices when eating the meat wrapped up in their homemade tortillas. The beef fajita is a special cut from the Sirloin section of an Angus cow. Most restaurants use smaller cuts because the meat requires long marinating to be able to chew, but Cabo Bob's seasons the meat with dry rub and then grills it. Then you have the chicken fajita which is always fresh and never frozen
