Cloud computing is the sharing of data resources, software, and information from one device to another device through a network. For example, instead of actually sending information from one device to another physically, this new software automatically shares the data to linked devices once the information is obtained in one of the devices. This is a fairly new networking technology that did not release until 2008 as a prototype. As recent as 2010, several companies have looked into investing with the first developers of the cloud computing software in hopes of making a huge profit. This new software is a breakthrough in the technology world as it is easy to use and makes it simple for those who are not technology savvy to transfer data from one device to another without having to do a thing. All the user has to do is make sure that the cloud computing software is put to its "on" switch and the software will take care of the rest.

Cloud computing has been fairly quiet to the general public that does not keep up with the latest in the technology world. It recently has been advertised heavily to the general public by Apple Incorporated. This is a newly released feature of their operating system iOS version 5. They released tutorials to their users to describe exactly what cloud computing or the iCloud is and how to use it. For example, if you were to download music and upload videos to your Macbook laptop running iOS5, with Apple's new computing software you would be able to share this data immediately with your iPad tablet and even your iPhone. The user would not have to manually sync their devices to each other in order to transfer the data from device to device. Instead the user could just turn on their iCloud application, set what data they want shared to their other devices and the music and videos will be on all the shared devices in their iCloud account network. This is a huge marketing scheme for their company because they are using cloud computing so that it can operate only on Apple products that are updated to their new iOS5 operating system. This will make users buy more of their products and stay loyal to the brand in order for them to use this new technology. Apple's iCloud is one instance of cloud computing being used by the general public in our present day.

We have a very basic plan on how to get the project completed. We're going to break it down into four sections and have each member complete a section. The two members whose parts co-inside (p1 to p2, p2 to p3, p3 to p4) will get together and see if they have any material that they both covered and make any necessary changes. We haven't yet decided who in our groups will be taking which sections, or even how we plan to break down the sections. However we are meeting in the near future when to discuss how we want to break down the sections and who will take which sections. From there
