Introduction
The purpose of this paper is to descripted relationship among technology convergence, leading edge technology and bleeding edge technology. First the definition of each and give examples of each and if bleeding technology can become leading edge technology. Also give examples of leading edge technology and tell why bleeding technology can become leading edge technology.
Technological Convergence:
Technological convergence "is the trend of technologies to merge into new technologies that bring together a myriad of media. While historically, technology handled one medium or accomplished one or two tasks, through technological convergence, devices are now able to present and interact with a wide array of media" (WISE GEEK, 2012).
Leading Edge Technology:
Leading Edge technology "is something that is or represents the most advanced or innovative aspect of a field, activity, profession, etc.; forefront; vanguard: the leading edge of technology" (Dictory.com, 2012).
Bleeding Edge Technology:
According to Investopedia, Bleeding Edge Technology that is acquired almost immediately after its release, regardless of the increased cost or risk involved. Bleeding edge technology is most popular among innovators and early adopters, and is often seen as related to terms "leading edge" and "cutting edge." However, bleeding edge technology suggests that a greater degree of risk is involved for the consumer who adopts it. This risk could be from limited support, uncaught problems, and compatibility issues and so on (Investopedia, 2012).
What are some examples of leading edge technology?
Here are some examples of leading edge technology the Mitsubishi Laser 3D TVs (Photos), Microsoft Play Any, Diesel Show: Underwater Magic, Good Bye, Godzilla, Funky Forest, Toyota 3D Projector System, Philips Daylight Window, Johnny Chung Lee's Wii Experiments, Wii Gloves, and IO2 Heliodisplay Technology these are just some examples of leading edge technology. There are a lot more examples of leading edge technology on Smash Media (Smashing Media GmbH, 2012).
What are some examples of bleeding edge technology?
Here are several examples of the Lincoln Tunnel Catwalk car was introduced in the 1960, the separate TV screen was introduced in 1938, the First ATM was introduced in 1966 and the Early Television was introduced in 1938.
