Current trends in business communication are constantly changing on a daily basis. Business communication is a tool necessary to accomplish organizational objectives. Business Communication is a tool that allows you to improve the performance of your employees, performance of teams within the company. It also allows you to improve the performance of the entire organization, with the common goal helping the company to fulfill its mission (definition of bus. Comm.). Given recent advancements in technology and globalization of services, communication skills remain one of the most highly sought-after skills employers look for in job candidates. In today's world there are ten trends in communication that are taking businesses by storm, they include: Technology, teamwork, entrepreneurship, legal and ethical trends, balancing professional and private life, flexibility in work, diversity, globalization and outsourcing, focus on quality and customers needs, and the rapid rate of change (Locker & Kienzler, 2008). In the business world technology provides instant communication and allows for easy access, even to those that are not tech savvy. Businesses quickly tend to adapt to new forms of technology, which can and will enhance the experience to that of their workers. New software programs and devices are always coming onto the market that can potentially help businesses. Some of the programs that are introduced to the businesses have to be taught to their employees through training programs, so the employees will have knowledge on how to operate the programs or devices, in turn this will allow the employees the ability to sell the new products via the new software to the customers. Hence, making the business more profitable. Popular websites, personal digital assistants, portable media players are just some of the most popular devices that are being utilized throughout the workplace as well as many small businesses. Many organizations are using these forms of technology, as they are finding that it is enhancing their customer base as well as customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction has been getting better since it had declined in the late 1990's. This new technology has been really good for businesses. Higher levels of customer satisfaction increases stronger sales and business performance. Entrepreneurship has become so popular that business schools are now offering training courses, internships, or programs that helps show how to run a business.
