How would those challenges impact Poppler's business?
The expense involved to develop a CBT applicable to Poppler's business should be taken into account when implementing a CBT training program. This could be outsourced to a Technical / Educational facility to create a unique program specifically for this business or assigned to a technical employee to create a training program. Either way, a computer-based training program developed specifically for Poppler should be implemented so that each employee at each location is trained on their system in the exact same manner. This enables all employees to consistent information allowing them to perform in the way you want them to perform. The continued development of the employees is measured by the effectiveness of their training materials.
Obviously, it is essential to train the employees but if it is a difference between training the employees with a CBT program and purchasing essential equipment necessary to maintain the business operations; the business equipment must be chosen and training performed by another method or postponed to a more opportune time.
While Poppler has employees in several sites consistent training is a challenge. It is for this reason that CBT is an excellent choice. The program could feature a hands-on approach where the new system to be implemented would be emulated and all employees would have the opportunity to learn their system in the same manner.

Much retail management does not have access to personal computers and one computer may be available to serve the entire facility. This would make accessing the training difficult or challenging as many employees may be trying to utilize the CBT at the same time. If gaining access to a computer is a challenge, the employees may not find the time to do the training or become frustrated while accessibility is limited. Also, many retail employees may not be as technical as in other fields and computers may pose intimidating to some. A manager must know the staff and whether anyone has any technical challenges that may cause difficulty in completing the required training. When these obstacles are known, it is merely a different thought process in how the training is presented. Rather than presenting the training as each employee being responsible for completing it by a certain date; maybe there can be a couple training sessions where the manager facilitates the computer to a small group of employees.
The corporate image the organization wants to portray cannot be learned by CBT.
