Are students able to perform and attain a greater success rate when assessed using the traditional paper-based testing method. This study is to determine If Mrs. Lafrance's 6th period sixth grade intensive reading class at Nautilus Middle School who are assessed using the traditional paper-based method have a greater success rate of 70% or above than students using the computer-based testing methods of the FL Ready assessment. All students will participate in two groups, during weeks 1-7, the experimental group, and during weeks 8-14 the control group. Both will perform the same experiments through individual methods. Achievement scores will be gathered through a pretest, progress tests, and a posttest. Average scores will be analyzed through a two-tailed T-test to determine the effectiveness of the experimental methods. Students will complete surveys before, during, and after the process regarding the effectiveness of their assessment method. Throughout the experiment, field observations will be noted to determine student commitment and inclination toward assessment methods.
