Crime
A man walking down the street in a not so good neighborhood was approached by three men. They grabbed him and beat, robbed and sexually assaulted him. He was found in an alley by a restaurant owner around 4 am in the morning. He (victim) was unconscious, bleeding half naked from the waist down. The restaurant called 911 to report the crime and by the time the EMT's arrived the young man was in and out of consciousness. When the police arrived the secured the crime scene and started an investigation where they were able to get a victim's statement and a description of the three men that assaulted him. The EMT's took him to the local hospital for treatment and to retrieve DNA as evidence that was left behind. Fortunately DNA was retrieved and a match came up in the crime data base that identified one of the offenders. The suspect was apprehended early that morning and retained for questioning. After a few hours during the interview the suspect admitted to being in the area of the crime. He was read his rights and now being held in police custody. At this point the detective from the crime scene came in and started the interrogation process. After about 6 hours of interrogation, the suspect admitted to the crime and also gave the names of the other two perpetrators. They were later in the day arrested and all three were charged with assault and malicious wounding, sexual assault and robbery and these crimes carry a felony charge on all three perpetrators.
