Crimes of the Heart had six main characters. These include Lenny and Meg MaGrath, Chick Boyle, Doc Porter, Babe Botrellle, and Barnette Lloyd. Lenny, Meg, and Babe are sisters. Chick is their cousin. For the role of Babe, I chose to cast Emma Stone. I chose her partly because Babe is the youngest sister. She's 24 years old. The same age that Emma is. Babe is kind of the lovable but very unpredictable sister. Emma played the female lead in both "Easy A" and "Zombieland". In both of those movies she played a girl you can't help but like, but you're still weary of her. Babe was a good, loving wife and sister. Until she pretty much snapped. She shot her husband and she even tried to kill herself. But even after finding out that she shot her husband, you can't help but like her. She doesn't come off as crazy or unstable in any way. You really just want to give her a hug and tell her that everything is going to be ok. I feel like Emma has that quality about her. I chose to cast Kate Hudson as Meg. After reading the characterization of Meg there was no one I thought of other than Kate Hudson. Meg is the middle sister. She's 27 years old which is a little younger than Kate. Meg is supposed to be very attractive and talented. She even moves to Hollywood to enhance her singing career. Her main flaws are her promiscuous tendencies. This led to her having a really bad reputation throughout high school and her adult life. Also she never really achieved her singing goals. So an be described as a failure or a "wannabe". The reason I chose Kate is because she currently is on the TV show "Glee", she plays a failed broadway star who tries to live out her dreams by teaching dance class at a top New York broadway star. She is definitely a "wannabe" just like Meg and she is even a little promiscuous on the show. I felt that she was the perfect choice. For the role of Lenny, I chose Sandra Bullock. Although she's older than Lenny I think that she would be perfect for the role. My main reason for choosing Sandra is because of her role in "The Blind Side". She played a mother to a teenage and young adult Michael Oher. Being the oldest, Lenny takes on more of a motherly role towards her sisters. Lenny is kind of a southern bell just like Sandra in "The Blind Side". I think that Rachel McAdams would be great for the role of Chick. I think that Rachel is very versatile. She can be extremely rude and stuck up like in "Mean Girls" or lovable and sweet like in "The Notebook" or "The Vow". That's how Chick is. She starts off sweet but then she instantly becomes extremely unlike able and stuck up. Rachel McAdams could easily pull this off. As Doc Porter I chose Bradley Cooper. Porter is described as an "attractively worn" man. I feel like Bradley Cooper fits that description. He's young, but not too young. He looks like
