Discrimination Case

One of the main forces behind this kind of discrimination is the news. People believe what they see on and read in the news. If they see an article on disabled people doing a task that a normal person would not be in the paper for, they are going to see a misrepresented version of a disability. News outlets only show stories about disabled people who are suffering or who have done difficult tasks, thus making disabled people seem not normal.
Disabled people are normal people and should be treated as such. Modern media portrays them differently, as if they are not like others. By doing this, the media is creating boundaries between disabled and non-disabled people. It is providing a disconnection between people, and it is strange in modern times where disabled people are still being misrepresented even though society should have learned that disabled people are much like non-disabled people. This practice will thrive as long as the media feels that it is appropriate and acceptable.
