Television is one of the most dominant media in the world. It is widely used by different people. Different TV Shows on different TV programs can be seen on it and those have effects on people.

Television was invented for many reasons, people will be aware of what is happening in their surroundings, they can get information and gives entertainment. Since it was first invented, it has good effects on people and gives advantages. People can learn by watching, can be entertained and can be updated. As years passed, Television had many features that made people more interested on it but people became more addicted on in. At the end, people cannot imagine life without TV.

For the researchers, it's true that television is important to the people because it can help in some ways at the same time it can give entertainment. It can either be good or bad depending on the way they used. People are the one who is controlling it so they can't blame if some bad things that influenced them or the children. People can prevent bad effects by proper watching, schedule of watching, proper shows and proper guidance for the children. Parents must not leave their children watching alone.

The researchers come up with this study when they saw effects of watching too much TV on the people around them. Some are duplicating what they can see; some has good effects and some has bad effects. Also, they based it on their own experience. Their main point is students were practicing colonial mentality.

The researchers wants to know the effects of watching foreign TV programs in colonial mentality of high school students in Barangay San Roque and they want to end up with good solutions, awareness of parents and how parents control their children in too much practicing colonial mentality.

B. Statement of the Problem

The general objective in this study is to know the positive and negative effects of television to the high school students.

* To determine the awareness of high school students in colonial mentality.

* To define and describe the common forms of TV programs access by high school students.

* To determine the percentage of high school students who watch different TV programs.

* To find out the level of interest of high school students to different TV programs.

* To determine the effects of TV programs to the colonial mentality of high school students.

* To prove whether such trend/craze is alarming or not.

* To come up with ways on how to control the effects.

C. Hypothesis

Watching television can affect the mentality of many high school students.
